Blog post #4 - AY

This picture best describes the richness of my time in Zambia thus far because it is the students in this cohort that has really made my experience so great. At the beginning of our pre-departure seminar, Alex and I were relatively friendly, and I knew of Cuong, because we’re both in ILR. Naturally, I gravitated toward sitting with them, because they were who I was most comfortable being around.
Since coming to Zambia and spending 5 weeks with the rest of the cohort, I can confidently say that everyone in our cohort has become close friends of mine, and we are all so grateful for the time that we get to spend with each other. One of my favorite things about Cornell is that is pools together amazing people with so many different interests, passions, and backgrounds. At the campus-wide level, there are so many people to meet and experiences to have. I have come to see that our cohort is a microcosm of our Cornell campus. Everyone in our cohort is unique and contributes to our dynamic and close group. We are researchers and students, but also really close friends. When the program ends at the end of July, I know that we will still manage to spend time together and stay close friends. I am looking forward to our reunions and continued relationships.

In terms of ethical considerations, we made sure that everyone consented to the picture that we took. For all of the photos we have taken in Zambia, we have been sure to be respectful and appropriate in what, and who, we document.
